Lol...."Mr Top Marketer".....I don't know about that.

We have not been given any video with him singing on an original beat and I know of none although I am sure his album would have some.

I too agree that he should be doing songs on original beats if they want him to really breakout internationally but I doubt that his people are thinking that way - we Jamaicans tend to think too small and focus on getting bookings for performances.

He is signed to Big Yard (Shaggy's label) so they certainly understand crossover success but that also means that they have other artists that rank higher in priority ;-)

Just watched his two videos on the site, rather I listened to them asI was doing something. Chris MArtin has a good voice that's for sure but in a market where you're being compared to others and you have to be as original as you can be, I'm wondering, wont using the same riddim as other artistes hinder him? Such as the case with Chin vs. Paul?

Dancehall music is made for us to dance. The entire songs when you go to parties or on a mix CD isn't played, the songs run into each other constantly. So it serves the purpose of complementing previous songs and keeps the dance going and flowing.

Songs like reggae and r & b, along the lines of what Martin is doing, yes they too get mixed but then don't they usually have their own distinct lyrics and riddim (somebody pass mi a mix cd) exlcuding of course the ones that counteract each other in the case of a female version to a song vs a male version.

Waiting on David Mullings who will have an answer to my wonders lmao...Mr. Top Marketer...is it a good move?

Does Chris Martin have a video with lyrics on an original riddim?

hmmm i will try not to take month to return and read your replies
